Next Thursday, Christian Marclay: Festival, a groundbreaking exhibition that includes daily live music performances, kicks off the Whitney Museum of American Art summer season. Sponsored by Keds, the all-American sneaker brand, this exhibition explores Marclay’s approach to the world around him with a particular focus on his “graphic scores” for performances by musicians and vocalists.
The KedsWhitney Collection by Jenny Holzer, whose artwork uses words in a range of media such as LED signs, stone benches, and T-shirts, will launch exclusively at select Bloomingdale's stores nationwide, as well as on bloomingdales.com and keds.com starting in July 2010. All Keds’ profits from Jenny Holzer’s line will benefit the Whitney Museum of American Art.
This July and August, Whitney Live presented by Keds will rock the Lower Gallery and Sculpture Court with live performances highlighting artists from the progressive and experimental music scenes. Whitney Live presented by Keds is free with Museum admission, which is pay-what-you-wish on Fridays from 6-9 pm.
